Relationshipper Book Tag
Well this book tag was supposed to be posted yesterday on actual Valentine’s Day but hey, better late than never, as they say. I reallyyy need to get into the habit of scheduling posts instead of just drafting them when I’m done. ;~;
Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, whether it was with a significant other or just enjoying some time by yourself!
I thought it might be fun to start incorporating more tags and memes into my blog posts. You can only have so many book lists, right? Right…guys?
I chose to do the Relationshipper Book Tag by Bubbly Books, the original creator of the tag. I wasn’t tagged to do this but again, I thought it’d be fun.
Besides, I usually have a limited number of answers and repeat characters/books, which I absolutely hate, so doing these encourages me to read more! (:
I’m only going to tag Lin over at Among Candles and Tea but feel free to ‘tag’ along (haha, get it? so punny💀) and do this one yourself!
Let me know if you do the tag and leave your link in the comments so I can go read it. (:
1) If you could date a fictional character who would it be and why?
Grady from JG Macleod’s series. I usually go for the villains (cliche, I know) but Grady is just so sweet and such a gentlemen. 🥺
2) If you were to go on a date with said fictional character where would you go and what would you do?
Oooh. Well the first book takes place in Ireland and there’s a part where Grady takes the main character to a place called Dún Aonghasa – an old hill fort that rests on a cliff-side. I think it’s gorgeous with a nice view, so I’d pick that. As for what we’d do, a simple picnic sounds lovely.
3) A favorite “ship”/ couple you’ve read?
Definitely Amelia and Riley from The Ghosts of Ashbury High. They aren’t particularly special or anything, in terms of an extravagant romance. However, Riley loves Amelia dearly and you can tell just how much he cares for her in subtle ways. I completely adore this couple and this book as a whole.
4) A “ship”/couple you hated?
Bella and Edward from Twilight. Just…what? I’m still confused.
5) A book that had the classic Hate to Love trope?
Dark Visions by L.J. Smith. In case you haven’t read it yet, that’s all I’ll say. Also, I definitely recommend this book – it was very good, in my opinion.
6) A book that had insta love?
I’m going to go with Caleb + Kate by Cindy Martinusen. If you fall in love with someone after a MONTH, I just can’t take it seriously. I’m sorry.
7) A book with a light cutesie relationship? (to all the boys Ive loved before and the royals)
My mind is completely blanking on this one. ;~;
8) A book with a relationship that made you cry?
I’m not entirely sure if this counts but I’m going with Miles and Alaska from Looking For Alaska by John Green. If you’ve read it, you can guess when I cried. If you haven’t read it though, stop reading this immediately and go get the book. *chef’s kiss*
9) A book without romance (or with very little)?
Speaking of the devil, what was up with John Green’s Paper Towns book? Like…it’s simultaneously about discovering you love someone but it’s also just kind of a big ass scavenger hunt????
Now, don’t get me wrong. This is still in my top two favorites, the ending was just very anticlimactic. I wanted to smack Margo and be like “YOU DID ALL THIS FOR WHAT??”
10) If you could delete one “ship” from a book who would it be and why?
Would it count if I said Katniss Everdeen and Gale whatever-his-last-name-was from The Hunger Games? Like sure, the relationship between Katniss and Peeta was a hot mess and could’ve been done better but if you ship her with Gale…just why? Genuinely, why??
11) A new couple you read that you ship?
I definitely ship Kai and Winter from Beautiful Facade, which I reviewed here. ♥
Have you read any of the books I’ve mentioned in this book tag? What are some your favorite and least favorite ships? I’d love to know! x
