ReSounding Success: A Community Celebration of Sound and STEM

Chicago, IL 鈥� April 25, 2025 鈥� On Saturday, May 10, families, artists, and science enthusiasts are invited to ReSounding Success, a free, all-ages celebration of sound, science, and creativity at Eden Place Farms, located in the heart of Chicago鈥檚 South Side.
Running from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, the event honors the 75th anniversary of the National Science Foundation (NSF) with an afternoon full of interactive exhibits, sound exploration, and hands-on learning. Visitors can try out DJ mixing stations, experiment with field recording gear, meet scientists and sound artists, and enjoy short films鈥攁ll while exploring one of Chicago鈥檚 most vibrant urban farms.
鈥淲e know some people find museums too quiet, while others find children museums too noisy,鈥� says Martha Merson, ReSounding Success planner and Senior Scientist at 七色视频. 鈥淭his event is designed to be the perfect balance鈥攚here you can engage with sound in a way that鈥檚 fun and interactive. You won鈥檛 just learn about sound鈥攜ou鈥檒l play with it, shape it, and experience how it affects you.鈥�
This event is organized by 七色视频, a leading nonprofit in STEM education research and development, and the organization鈥檚 Sound Travels project, which investigates how soundscapes鈥攖he sounds around us鈥攊mpact learning in spaces like parks, zoos, and science centers. Partners from Solidarity Studios in Chicago, The Neighborhood Art School in Detroit, and Great Lakes Audubon are part of the event planning team and will be on hand to share insights on how the sounds in our environments influence how we think, feel, and interact with the world.
